Prayers and Pipes

Prayers and Pipes
Scott David James
Circa 20010

Promises, promises Prayers and Pipes
Dream you sold me seemed so ripe
Ash to ash Dust to Dust
Rusted conscience
Withered Soul

You’re doling hope
Coated it in snow
To chill the hell that you’d not show

But your show’s a sham
Polluted Dope
The Hope you hold, oblique and sloped

Your slanted ways of Hate been stoked
Are over soon
It’s been a boon

Down to nothing, Olive branch
Your peace
Your pipe
I’ll just not bite

Promises, promises Prayers and Pipes
Your sugared words disguise your type
