Desperate Wonders

Desperate Wonders
Scott David James
Circa 2004

Desperate Wonders
The wealth of clouds that patch the moon
So full above

Fireflies spit winks in precariously sporadic patches
Upon the near horizon
The wind wafts

Gently the night kisses me
However brief our embrace
Eternal is her face

All I do spawns thoughts of you
The creed of clearance revived
Two people fell in love

Beneath the cover of night, they snug
And intertwined themselves
Like tendrils of a firmly rooted tree

In the soil of life’s eternity
As only Gaia knows
United, in prosperous throes
